Fifty years ago, on Nov. 23, 1973, The Brady Bunch episode filmed at Kings Island made its debut on ABC-TV. Episode No. 106, titled “The Cincinnati Kids,” was captured over five days in August 1973.
Featuring notable stars like Robert Reed, Florence Henderson, and Barry Williams, the episode follows the Brady family’s quest across Kings Island to locate Mike Brady’s (played by Reed) architectural drawings for a park expansion project.

Writers Al Schwartz and Larry Phine, along with director Les Martinson, initially visited Kings Island on July 29, 1973. Over two days, they toured the park, developed the plot, and worked through the logistics of filming.
Williams, recalling the experience, shared, “It was one of the most exciting times in our filming history because we got to step outside the soundstage at Paramount Studios and explore Cincinnati.” The park, still in its early stages, provided a unique backdrop as the cast roamed through rides and backstage areas, creating lasting memories.
The episode, known as a travel log for both the show and the park, showcased Kings Island’s early years, featuring rides like Halley’s Comet, Der Spinnen Keggers, and the Wheel of Fortune—now nostalgic elements of the past.
As one of his favorite episodes, Williams expressed, “It’s a fun episode with not much of a plot. Jan loses the plans, and the rest of the episode involves everyone searching throughout the park, creating a great connection between the Bradys and Kings Island across multiple generations.”
Even after 50 years, this beloved episode continues to captivate audiences, airing several times a year in syndication on TV Land and other global channels, with snippets available on YouTube. It remains one of the most watched and cherished episodes of The Brady Bunch, a series that ran from 1969 to 1974 and has remained in syndication since 1975.
