Let me tell you, my first visit to Hersheypark’s Christmas Candylane on Nov. 18 was nothing short of magical. The 40th edition of this holiday extravaganza proved why it’s a contender for Best Theme Park Holiday Event in the USA TODAY Readers’ Choice poll. With more than 5 million twinkling lights, festive and thrilling roller coasters, and delightful family rides, it’s a holiday tradition in the making for me.
The NOEL light show, featuring over 250,000 dancing lights synchronized to classic tunes, is must-see. My favorite vantage point? The Skyview ride, soaring over NOEL and offering a breathtaking view of the park’s illuminated beauty. But that’s not all; Rudolph and friends make a special stop at Santa’s Reindeer Stables, providing an up-close encounter that’s a rare treat in the Northeast.

The park’s commitment to holiday cheer extends beyond the lights and the rides. Mrs. Claus’ Dance Party adds a layer of festive fun. Make sure to catch Santa Claus, available until Dec. 24, and consider reserving a spot for the Breakfast with Santa experience at The Chocolatier restaurant. And don’t miss the chance to warm up inside the heated theater while snapping photos with Hershey Characters dressed in winter costumes.
With more than seven roller coasters, including the acclaimed Wildcat’s Revenge and Candymonium, and enchanting holiday makeovers for many rides, Hersheypark offers a joyous escape. Even the little ones have a trove of adorable kid-friendly rides to explore.

As I wandered through Hersheypark’s Christmas Candylane, the air was filled not only with the joyous sounds of holiday tunes and laughter but also the irresistible aroma of festive treats. My stroll became a culinary adventure. The temptation of a freshly made funnel cake proved impossible to resist, a sweet indulgence that added an extra layer of joy to my festive experience.
For a heartier option, Hersheypark has unveiled a creative twist on holiday favorites. From the savory notes of the Turkey Gobbler Pizza and foot-long Chili Dog to the nostalgic warmth of the Holiday Grilled Cheese, I enjoyed a festive feast that elevated the magic of the season. Each bite carried a hint of holiday magic, turning a day of rides, lights and sights into a full-sensory celebration.

Christmas Candylane is an enchanting way to embrace the holiday spirit at Hersheypark, open on select dates through Jan. 1, 2024. For details on Christmas Candylane tickets, attractions, dates and hours of operation, visit the Hersheypark website.
Trust me, this is one holiday celebration you won’t want to miss.
