Something colossal has arrived in Santa Claus, Indiana this fall. At Holiday World’s Happy Halloween Weekends, guests can step back millions of years to walk among the giants of the prehistoric world. The park’s all-new Dino Corn Maze Adventure sprawls across 12 acres of Indiana farmland, where towering creatures peer through the corn stalks, tiny hatchlings peek from their nests, and more than two dozen life-sized dinosaurs invite families into an era when reptiles ruled the Earth. Some move, some roar, all amaze—and all are included with admission.

The headliner is impossible to miss: a 70-foot Brachiosaurus, craning its long neck above the corn as if searching for the highest branches of a Jurassic forest. Nearby, the menacing Tyrannosaurus rex lurks with bone-crushing jaws and powerful legs, reminding everyone why it remains one of history’s most legendary predators. Not far away, Triceratops stands guard, their three horns and protective frills making them just as impressive in person as in textbooks.

Guests also encounter the spiked and plated Stegosaurus, a plant-eater with a tail tipped by four massive spikes that once kept predators at bay. Children delight in spotting the distinctive crest of Parasaurolophus, a duck-billed dinosaur whose hollow headpiece may have once helped it trumpet across the plains. Close by, the dome-headed Pachycephalosaurus seems ready to butt heads, its thick skull gleaming under the fall sun.

Predators stalk the maze too. The swift Allosaurus, once the apex hunter of the Late Jurassic, shows off its serrated teeth and muscular frame. A bit smaller but no less dangerous, the feathered Velociraptor crouches with its sickle claw raised—fast, agile, and forever famous. Visitors with sharp eyes may also spot the stocky Dromaeosaurus, a relative of raptors built for strength as much as speed.

The Dino Corn Maze Adventure reveals some of the earliest giants as well. From Argentina comes Lessemsaurus, an early sauropod that hints at the enormous plant-eaters to come. Near it lurks Herrerasaurus, one of the first large carnivores ever to walk the Earth. Another South American relic, the towering Edmontosaurus, stretches nearly forty feet, showcasing the variety of plant-eaters that thrived long after the Triassic age passed.

Not every dinosaur towers overhead. The quirky Oviraptor—with its parrot-like beak and small crest—stands near a nest, looking equal parts curious and mischievous. The long-tailed Tenontosaurus, often remembered as the favored prey of raptors, reminds guests that even the prey animals were formidable in size. Finally, as twilight approaches, all eyes drift upward to see the king of the skies: Quetzalcoatlus, the largest known flying reptile, with an 18-foot frame and wings that spanned more than thirty-five feet.

When the sun dips below the Indiana horizon, the adventure doesn’t end. Each Saturday night, more than 500 drones lift off for Dinos Soar in the Sky, choreographing pterosaurs and long-necked giants in a light show above the park. Families also enjoy indoor mazes, a hayride to the corn maze, a trick-or-treat trail for children 12 and under, and Holiday World’s mix of award-winning roller coasters and family rides. As always, free unlimited soft drinks, sunscreen, and parking ensure the value is as legendary as the dinosaurs themselves.

Just a few hours’ drive from cities like Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Nashville, and Columbus, Holiday World is perfectly placed for families looking for a day trip or a weekend getaway.

With Happy Halloween Weekends running now through October 26, Holiday World has turned fall into a season of epic adventure—where history’s most awe-inspiring creatures rise again, not from fossils, but from the cornfields of southern Indiana. This fall, families don’t just get a taste of Halloween—they get a full-blown prehistoric adventure, only at Holiday World.
