Summer is one of the most magical times to visit Dollywood, and in 2026 the park is adding an extra dose of red, white, and blue.
Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration presented by Food City returns June 15 through Aug. 2, transforming the popular Pigeon Forge theme park into a seasonal showcase of entertainment, food, family activities, and patriotic pride as America prepares to mark its 250th birthday.
From a dazzling nighttime drone and fireworks spectacular to new live entertainment, festive décor, exclusive merchandise, and summertime flavors, the annual festival offers guests more reasons than ever to spend their summer in the Smokies.
A Patriotic Twist on Sweet Summer Nights
The centerpiece of the celebration is the return of Dollywood’s popular Sweet Summer Nights drone and fireworks spectacular.
This year’s nighttime production embraces America’s upcoming 250th birthday with an enhanced patriotic theme. Each evening begins with a lively dance party before hundreds of drones take to the sky alongside fireworks and music celebrating both America and summer in the Smoky Mountains.
New drone formations include a soaring bald eagle and a waving American flag, while the soundtrack features patriotic favorites, songs inspired by the Smokies, music tied to Dollywood’s new NightFlight Expedition attraction, and selections from Dolly Parton herself.
The combination of synchronized drones, fireworks, music, and mountain scenery continues to be one of the most impressive nighttime experiences at any theme park in the country.
New and Returning Shows Fill the Park
Entertainment remains at the heart of Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration.
One of this year’s headline attractions is “Gazillion Bubble Show: Evolution,” a production recognized by Forbes as one of the best Off-Broadway shows for kids in 2026. The visually stunning performance fills Celebrity Theater with bubbles of every imaginable size and shape.
Animal lovers can catch “Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience” at Showstreet Palace Theater, where talented rescue and shelter dogs showcase their remarkable skills in a high-energy family show.
Guests looking for a dose of Dollywood nostalgia can enjoy “Play On” at The Pines Theater. The award-winning production celebrates four decades of entertainment history through memorable songs and scenes from the park’s past.
Meanwhile, “Wings of America” offers visitors the opportunity to see bald eagles and other birds of prey up close while learning about one of the nation’s most iconic symbols.
Families with young children will find plenty to enjoy at Imagination Playhouse, where stories from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library come to life through musical productions including “Coat of Many Colors,” “The Little Engine That Could,” and “Something Wild.” Character appearances and storytimes featuring favorites such as Peter Rabbit and Llama Llama add even more family-friendly fun.
Americana Décor Celebrates America’s 250th Birthday
Throughout the park, guests will discover patriotic touches designed specifically for America’s 250th anniversary celebration.
The popular Kite Sky installation returns to Showstreet, creating one of the park’s most colorful photo opportunities. Additional red, white, and blue displays can be found throughout
Dollywood, while patriotic bunting, flags, and Americana-inspired decorations line areas such as Craftsman’s Valley and The Village.
The result is a festive atmosphere that blends classic summer nostalgia with a celebration of American heritage.
Seasonal Flavors Take Center Stage
No festival at Dollywood would be complete without special culinary offerings, and Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration delivers a menu designed for warm summer days.
Among the featured items are the Cheesesteak Skillet, Roasted Corn Salad, and Watermelon Cucumber Salad. Guests with a sweet tooth can cool off with Deep-Fried S’mores or a refreshing Dragon Fruit Lemonade.
Visitors looking to sample multiple festival offerings can purchase a Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration Tasting Pass, which provides access to several specialty menu items at a single price.
Exclusive Summer Merchandise
The celebration extends beyond food and entertainment with a collection of limited-time merchandise.
Guests can browse exclusive Americana-themed apparel, patriotic accessories, handcrafted keepsakes, specialty candles, and commemorative blown-glass ornaments created in honor of America’s 250th anniversary.
The merchandise collection offers plenty of opportunities to take home a unique reminder of a summer visit to Dollywood.

The Fun Continues at Splash Country and Dollywood Resorts
Summer fun extends beyond the theme park gates.

During Neon Nights, the water park comes alive with glowing lights, immersive experiences, entertainment, special food offerings, and shorter wait times for attractions.
