Sometimes the most memorable attraction at a theme park isn’t a roller coaster.

Visitors to Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana, are being greeted this month by Mama Duck, a towering 60-foot-tall Rubber Duck that has become one of the most unexpected sights of the summer travel season. Flanked by several smaller rubber duck companions, the World’s Largest Rubber Duck is nested along the beach of Bahari Wave Pool as part of the park’s Rubber Duck Days celebration, which runs through June 21, weather permitting.

“She’s a sight to behold,” said Lauren Crosby, Fourth-Generation Owner and Director of Entertainment and Events. “We knew Mama Duck would be impressive, but you just have to see her to BILL-ieve it!”

The massive inflatable has quickly become a must-see attraction for guests visiting the popular southern Indiana destination. While Holiday World is known for award-winning roller coasters and Splashin’ Safari’s collection of world-class water attractions, Mama Duck adds a playful summer spectacle that appeals to visitors of all ages.

More Than Just a Photo Opportunity

The fun extends far beyond snapping pictures with the giant duck.

Throughout the parks, guests will find duck-themed merchandise, game prizes, and limited-time menu offerings inspired by the celebration. Specialty treats include the Duck Nest Funnel Cake topped with Peeps, malt balls, and chocolate sauce, the Yellow Ducky Dole Float featuring Dole Whip, Starry soda, blue raspberry flavoring, and a gummy duck, along with savory options such as Duck Sauced Chicken Tenders and Quacking Mac & Cheese.

The themed offerings add another layer of fun to a visit, creating a unique event that blends food, entertainment, and family-friendly experiences.

Why June Is One of the Best Times to Visit

Beyond the arrival of Mama Duck, June remains one of the most appealing times to experience Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari.

“June is a great time to visit,” Crosby said. “Especially on weekdays, the crowds are smaller, lines are shorter, and Guests will be QUACKING up at the sight of Mama Duck towering over Splashin’ Safari.”

For travelers looking to maximize their time on attractions rather than waiting in line, the combination of lighter crowds and seasonal entertainment makes this an ideal window for a summer getaway.

The excitement ramps up even further when Holidays in the Sky returns for its fifth season beginning June 20.

The nightly drone and fireworks spectacular will feature 500 drones creating animated displays above the park through August 3, weather permitting. This year’s production will include nearly 50 onboard pyrotechnic elements, more than ever before, adding another layer of excitement to Holiday World’s summer lineup.

The show has become one of the park’s signature experiences, giving guests a memorable way to cap off a day of coasters, water slides, and family fun.

An Easy Midwest Road Trip

One of Holiday World’s biggest advantages is its location. Situated in Santa Claus, Indiana, the park is within easy driving distance of Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, Nashville, Columbus, and St. Louis, making it a convenient destination for families across the Midwest and beyond.

This summer, Holiday World is offering visitors an unusual combination: award-winning roller coasters, nationally recognized water attractions, a cutting-edge drone show, and a 60-foot-tall rubber duck that has become one of the season’s most unexpected attractions.

For a limited time, the biggest star at Holiday World isn’t a coaster at all—it’s a giant yellow duck making a splash in southern Indiana.
