Get ready to take flight — Kentucky Kingdom is rolling out a brand-new way for families to soar together. The Louisville theme park just announced Flying Fox, a family-friendly roller coaster that’s set to open in 2026.
It’s the park’s first new coaster since 2019, and at a cost of $14 million, it’s also one of Kentucky Kingdom’s biggest projects yet. Once complete, it will become the park’s sixth roller coaster — more than any other theme park in the state.
The new ride is inspired by local legend and crop-dusting pilot Jeb Fox, who’s known in the story for his daring flights across the Bluegrass State. Guests will join Jeb on an imaginative adventure that celebrates Kentucky’s agricultural roots with a playful, story-driven twist.

From the moment guests enter the red barn-inspired queue, they’ll be surrounded by hand-painted murals and cheerful audio from Jeb himself, setting the tone for a lighthearted flight across Kentucky farmland. Once aboard, riders will soar above the fields, take in a bird’s-eye view of Louisville, and then plunge underground through a hidden tunnel for an unexpected thrill.
The combination of storytelling, scenic design, and just-right thrills makes Flying Fox a standout addition for families — especially those introducing younger riders to their first coaster experience.
Kentucky Kingdom says the new coaster “takes family fun to new heights,” and it’s easy to see why. Between the charming theme and surprising twists, Flying Fox is shaping up to be one of 2026’s most talked-about new rides.
