While a number of amusement and theme parks across the country are cutting days and shortening hours, Holiday World is adding more — including a new evening event designed to give passholders and guests extra value.

The park will debut Thursday Night Bites on Aug. 21 and Aug. 28 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. The event will feature selections from the park’s Summer Wine’d Down culinary festival menu, select dry park rides, live entertainment and drink specials.

Event admission is $25 online and includes one free Summer Wine’d Down exclusive menu item. Entry is free for all season passholders, and Platinum and regular passholders receive $5 off one exclusive menu item each Thursday night.

“Our team has blown guests away with the incredible Summer Wine’d Down menu, so we decided to continue the fun,” said Leah Koch-Blumhardt, Holiday World’s director of communications and a fourth-generation owner. “Thursday Night Bites is the perfect way to experience our new culinary festival with a relaxing evening atmosphere.”

Splashin’ Safari will be closed during the Thursday Night Bites events, but Holiday World’s signature attractions will operate, with children’s rides in the Christmas section running until 7:30 p.m. Select restaurants will remain open, offering festival-exclusive items.

“This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy a weeknight change of pace,” Koch-Blumhardt said. “With schools going back and activities starting up, Thursday Night Bites is a great way to unwind and get ready for the weekend.”

The Summer Wine’d Down festival, which began Aug. 4, features more than 30 exclusive menu items across both parks through Sept. 13. Guests can purchase a Tasting Pass for the best value.

Holiday World’s fall schedule also includes the return of Friday Night Live! from Aug. 22 through Oct. 24, featuring live music, drink specials and night rides. Happy Halloween Weekends run Sept. 20 to Oct. 26, with extended hours on Oct. 11, 18 and 25. Both parks are open daily through Aug. 17, with Splashin’ Safari closing Sept. 13 and Holiday World’s season ending Nov. 2.
