In an enchanting farewell, the iconic Country Bear Jamboree at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom bid adieu on January 26, signaling the start of a musical metamorphosis set to debut this summer. Disney enthusiasts can brace themselves for the arrival of the Country Bear Musical Jamboree, an extravagant ode to the Opry-style shows of Nashville.
Creative executive Chris Beatty from Walt Disney Imagineering assured fans that the zany cast of characters is here to stay, with a promise that “the bears will reinterpret their favorite Disney songs in different genres of country music.” Collaborating with Nashville musicians, Imagineers aim to capture an authentic sound, injecting the show with hidden gems, known as “Easter eggs.”

While the familiar tunes will resonate, the real brilliance lies in the introduction of new, reinterpreted Disney melodies spanning various country music genres. From bluegrass to pop-country, Americana to rockabilly, the upcoming show promises a kaleidoscope of musical delights.
Despite the closure drawing long lines of fans on its final day, a glitch forced the cancellation of the last show, leaving some disappointed. Disney, however, remains tight-lipped about the reopening date for the attraction this summer.
To offer fans a sneak peek into the bear-volution, Disney unveiled a clip at Destination D23, showcasing the recording session for the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Behind the scenes, the bears are working furiously to deliver a show that guarantees knee-slappin’ and paw-tappin’ fun.
As the curtain falls on the Country Bear Jamboree, a 16-minute southern symphony performed by 18 audio-animatronic hillbilly bears, anticipation builds for the revamped experience in Grizzly Hall. One of the last attractions planned with Walt Disney’s touch, the new show is poised to open its doors and captivate audiences once again in the summer of 2024.
