Scheduled for its grand debut in 2025, Epic Universe was initially announced in 2019, with Tuesday’s release marking a significant milestone in the project’s development. The focus was on Celestial Park, the entry point to Epic, offering lush gardens, waterways, the Constellation Carousel, Astronomica wet-play area, diverse dining options, and shopping establishments.

Celestial Park serves as the gateway to four other themed lands: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, and Dark Universe, where the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein unfold—a revelation that adds to the excitement surrounding the park.

Strategically located southeast of Universal Orlando’s existing attractions, Epic Universe aims to transform the resort into a weeklong vacation destination. Karen Irwin, president and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, describes it as a “huge transformational moment” that will redefine the destination’s identity and offer the most thrilling experiences imaginable.

Epic’s Celestial Park will also host the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, boasting 500 rooms and an exclusive park entrance, creating an unparalleled integration of a theme park and resort.

The newly revealed Starfall Racers, a dual-launch coaster with a top speed of 62 mph and a height of 133 feet, promises an exhilarating experience with a unique Celestial Spin maneuver, adding to the park’s adrenaline-pumping attractions.

Beyond thrilling rides, Epic Universe introduces diverse culinary experiences and shopping opportunities within Celestial Park, including eateries like Atlantic, Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant, Oak & Star Tavern, and Pizza Moon, as well as stores like Nintendo Super Star Store and Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets.

With themed entrances linking Celestial Park to other lands and fountains reaching up to 135 feet, accompanied by music and interactive lighting, Universal Epic Universe is poised to revolutionize the theme park landscape. As filmmaker Steven Spielberg, listed as a creative consultant, aptly puts it, “Epic Universe is built on an amazing concept—the idea that you can go into a world through some sort of portal and come out in a world you never could dream of. You can experience it.”
