Not every roller coaster worth riding is brand new. Some have spent decades—or even more than a century—creating memories, and now two of them have earned national recognition for doing just that.

At Seabreeze Amusement Park, two iconic attractions have been honored by American Coaster Enthusiasts, highlighting the park’s remarkable place in American amusement park history.

During a special ceremony on June 27, The Bobsleds was officially designated an ACE Roller Coaster Landmark, an honor reserved for roller coasters recognized for their historical significance, engineering innovation and lasting influence on the amusement industry. The distinction places the ride among a select group of coasters celebrated for helping shape the evolution of thrill rides.

Seabreeze’s legendary Jack Rabbit also received an ACE Centennial Coaster plaque in recognition of more than 100 years of continuous operation. Since opening in 1920, it has remained the oldest continuously operating roller coaster in the United States, delivering classic wooden coaster thrills to generations of riders while preserving an important piece of amusement park history.

The recognition ceremony, held following Coaster Con, brought together ACE members, Seabreeze leadership and park guests to celebrate the park’s longstanding commitment to preserving these historic attractions. The festivities continued with exclusive ride time on The Bobsleds, Jack Rabbit, Bear Trax and Whirlwind, followed by a friendly Skee Ball tournament.

“Few parks can claim a legacy as rich as Seabreeze,” said Derek Perry, communications director for ACE. “The Bobsleds represents an important chapter in coaster innovation, while Jack Rabbit continues to delight riders more than a century after its debut.”

Founded in 1978, ACE is the world’s largest amusement ride enthusiast organization, dedicated to preserving and promoting roller coaster history through education, events and advocacy.

For travelers who appreciate classic Americana, Seabreeze offers something increasingly rare: the opportunity to experience living amusement park history. A ride on Jack Rabbit or The Bobsleds isn’t just about the thrills—it’s about stepping aboard attractions that have earned their place among America’s most treasured roller coasters.
