Summer nights are lighting up the skies once again at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari as the park’s popular Holidays in the Sky drone and fireworks spectacular returns for its fifth season.
Running nightly through August 3, the show features 500 drones creating dazzling animated displays above the park, including nearly 50 drones equipped with in-air pyrotechnic effects.
This year’s production has been enhanced with patriotic animations celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, making it one of the most ambitious nighttime spectaculars in the park’s history.
The celebration reaches its peak during the Fourth of July holiday week as Holiday World, the nation’s only theme park with an entire Fourth of July-themed section, rolls out several days of patriotic entertainment and special events.
On July 1, park officials will unveil what is being billed as the largest single-attraction investment in Holiday World history. The announcement will be revealed as part of a humorous Cannonball Competition video released on YouTube at 8:45 a.m. Guests visiting the park that evening can gather in Party Plaza for a special viewing of the announcement before the drone show begins.
Patriotic festivities continue July 2 with performances by the 38th Infantry Division Band, Indiana’s only military band, at the Hoosier Celebration Theater. On July 3 and 4, Holidays in the Sky will conclude with an expanded fireworks finale, adding even more excitement to the nighttime experience.
Beginning July 4, renowned escape artist Lady Houdini, Kristen Johnson, takes the stage for a two-week engagement at the Hoosier Celebration Theater. Johnson is famous for breaking Harry Houdini’s estimated record of 1,000 water cell escapes and has performed the daring feat more than 2,700 times during her career.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, 12-foot-tall patriotic stilt walkers dressed in red, white, and blue will roam the park from July 1 through July 4, greeting guests, dancing, and posing for photos.
“The Fourth of July is a time to come together, celebrate our country, and enjoy time with the people who matter most,” said Matt Eckert, President & CEO of Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. “At Holiday World, we’re proud to offer a place where families can make those memories, whether that’s a ride on Liberty Launch, a spin on Star-Spangled Carousel, or finishing their day of fun with a patriotic drone and fireworks show.”
Located in the town of Santa Claus, Indiana, Holiday World is within driving distance of major Midwest cities including Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Nashville, and Columbus, making it an easy summer getaway for families looking to combine thrilling rides, water park fun, and one of the region’s most impressive nighttime spectaculars.
Will Holiday World’s enhanced Holidays in the Sky become one of your must-see Fourth of July traditions this summer?
