Fans of Legendary Entertainment’s Monsterverse will soon have a new reason to visit South Korea as KONG X GODZILLA: THE RIDE officially opens July 24, 2026, at Lotte World Adventure.
The new attraction marks a historic milestone as Legendary Entertainment’s first-ever theme park experience, bringing its blockbuster Monsterverse franchise to life in a multimedia dark ride created in collaboration with Legendary Entertainment, Toho Co., Ltd., and Sally Dark Rides.
Set within the mysterious underground world known as Hollow Earth, the birthplace of the Titans, the attraction combines large-scale animatronics, motion-based ride vehicles, expansive media screens and immersive special effects to recreate the cinematic scale of the Monsterverse.
An 11-minute expedition beneath the surface
Visitors take on the role of newly recruited MONARCH operatives, joining the secret organization responsible for studying and monitoring the Titans.
Their journey begins inside MONARCH Outpost M-42, a research facility established around a newly discovered Vile Vortex at Lotte World Adventure. Before boarding, guests pass through research and maintenance areas where they uncover new information about the Titans before receiving their mission briefing during an immersive pre-show.
The adventure continues aboard advanced Hollow Earth Aerial Vehicles (HEAVs), with two interconnected ride vehicles carrying up to eight passengers each through an approximately 11-minute expedition beneath the Earth’s surface.
The mission quickly changes course when a powerful volcanic eruption throws Hollow Earth into chaos. As Titans begin roaming the unstable landscape, riders work alongside Kong to contain the escalating crisis while discovering the critical role Godzilla plays in preventing the conflict from reaching the surface world.
Storytelling extends beyond the ride
Rather than focusing solely on the ride itself, the experience is designed to immerse guests in the Monsterverse from the moment they enter the attraction until they leave.
The attraction’s detailed queue, pre-show and post-ride experiences all expand on the story, allowing visitors to feel like active participants instead of spectators. After the adventure concludes, guests can continue the experience in a themed photo area before browsing exclusive attraction merchandise available only at the ride’s gift shop.
Although Legendary’s films use the “Godzilla x Kong” branding, the attraction reverses the order in its title because Kong serves as guests’ primary guide throughout the Hollow Earth expedition and remains the central figure driving the attraction’s narrative.
A landmark addition for theme park fans
Legendary Entertainment describes KONG X GODZILLA: THE RIDE as the first theme park attraction built entirely around its Monsterverse franchise, combining story, themed environments and ride technology into one continuous experience.
As parks around the world continue investing in attractions based on blockbuster entertainment properties, the new dark ride gives fans of Kong and Godzilla an opportunity to step inside the Monsterverse in a way that extends well beyond the movie screen.
