Cedar Point, known as “The Roller Coaster Capital of the World,” is adding another record-breaking attraction to its famed collection of scream machines. The Sandusky, Ohio amusement park announced Siren’s Curse, the tallest, fastest, and longest “tilt” roller coaster in North America, slated to debut in summer 2025.
As someone who’s spent decades immersed in this industry, I couldn’t have been more surprised by this announcement than if I’d woken up in the morning with my head sewn to the carpet. But I have to say, I love a good surprise, and in today’s amusement industry, that’s rare.
Siren’s Curse draws its inspiration from the haunting legends of Lake Erie, where sirens are said to have lured sailors to their watery graves with their melodic calls. Now, those same creatures will surface and challenge guests to escape a terrifying two-minute ordeal of innovative coaster thrills.

The experience on Siren’s Curse begins as riders climb 160 feet up an old Lake Erie shipping crane, where the sirens’ chilling melodies echo through the air. At the peak, the train comes to a dead stop on a precarious “broken” section of track. From there, the real terror begins. The platform holding the train slowly tilts until it’s completely vertical, forcing riders to stare straight down—hoping the track will reconnect below.
Once the track locks into place, the plunge begins, sending riders careening through nearly 3,000 feet of twisted track at a top speed of 58 mph. Along the way, thrill-seekers will encounter 13 airtime moments, two 360-degree zero-gravity barrel rolls, and a thrilling “triple-down” element. The coaster’s immersive design includes integrated audio and LED lighting on each of its two 24-passenger trains.
Siren’s Curse will be located near the Iron Dragon coaster and Cedar Point Marina, promising an intense and compact ride layout.

As someone who’s enjoyed Cedar Point’s impressive lineup of roller coasters over the years, I believe this ride will be an immediate favorite, filled with moments that will leave guests breathless.
With this addition, Cedar Point’s coaster count climbs to 19, including beloved icons like Millennium Force, Steel Vengeance, and Maverick. In 2025, thrill-seekers will have not just Siren’s Curse but also the highly anticipated Top Thrill 2—a triple-launch strata coaster idle for most of 2024—to look forward to.
As someone who’s been deeply involved in the amusement park industry, I know firsthand that Cedar Point’s ability to surprise fans with something truly innovative is what keeps them on top. Siren’s Curse is set to continue that tradition.
