The 2024 Golden Ticket Awards, presented by Amusement Today, once again celebrated the best in the amusement industry on September 7, bringing together over 300 industry professionals at the historic Kennywood Park.
It was a first-class event, with a blend of nostalgia and modern thrills in one of America’s most beloved parks, as awards were given across 22 categories, plus special honors.

Kennywood, a National Historic Landmark celebrating its 125th anniversary, provided the perfect backdrop for an evening dedicated to recognizing the “Best of the Best” in the industry. Attendees enjoyed behind-the-scenes tours, networking opportunities, and a chance to discuss trends shaping the future of amusement parks.
Dollywood emerged as the biggest winner of the evening, taking home five awards, including Best Family Coaster and Best Guest Experience.
Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari also had a standout night, winning three awards, including Best New Innovation for its interactive drone show. Europa-Park in Germany took home the coveted Best Park award, while its new coaster Voltron Nevera won Best New Roller Coaster.
The evening wasn’t without surprises. The most unexpected moment came when Amusement Today Publisher Gary Slade received a surprise Legend award.
As an attendee, I was struck by the camaraderie and passion shared by everyone present. This wasn’t just an award ceremony—it was a celebration of the industry and its ongoing innovation.
It was an honor and privilege as an industry journalist to have been one of the voters this year, and I was able to contribute to recognizing the incredible innovation and guest experiences that make this industry so special.
