Today, July 25, marks National Carousel Day, and communities across the country are celebrating with special events and activities that capture the timeless charm of these classic attractions. From free rides and historical exhibits to artist appearances and family-friendly fun, carousels are taking center stage.
At Hersheypark in Pennsylvania, the day is being called the “sweetest place to celebrate” National Carousel Day, with festivities surrounding its beloved merry-go-round. In Albany, the New York State Museum is marking the occasion with a morning full of carousel-themed activities.
Out west, the historic Balboa Park Carousel in San Diego is offering free rides throughout the day, inviting guests to take a spin on one of the country’s most cherished carousels. In Franklin, Tennessee, the Carousel of Dreams at The Factory is hosting special events that include an appearance by renowned carousel artist Ken Means.

In Springfield, Massachusetts, the Carousel at Forest Park will feature face painting and evening rides as part of its celebration. And around the country, many other venues and organizations are also joining in to honor the nostalgic joy and cultural history of the carousel.
