If a recent Kings Island survey sent to season passholders is any hint of what’s to come, the park might be dreaming up one of its most imaginative family attractions yet — one that blends learning, storytelling, and adventure into a single experience.
The concept, described in the survey, teases a story-driven attraction where guests travel through multiple fantastical worlds — from prehistoric lands filled with dinosaurs to the vastness of outer space, the mysteries of the ocean depths, and beyond. Each realm would come to life with immersive theming, interactive elements, and richly woven stories designed to spark curiosity in younger guests while keeping parents and older siblings just as engaged.
If Kings Island were to move forward with something like this, it could serve as a modern evolution of the classic “dark ride,” but with today’s technology and a focus on interactivity. Think motion-based vehicles that respond to guest actions, dynamic lighting and projection effects, and an ever-changing storyline that makes each ride feel a little different.
Unlike the park’s high-speed coasters or spooky haunts, Imaginarium Adventures — as I’ll call it — would be a place for families to share an experience together, where kids can roar with dinosaurs, float through galaxies, and explore underwater kingdoms, all within a single attraction.
For a park that’s long balanced thrill rides with family favorites, this type of attraction could fill an important gap — a destination where storytelling takes center stage, and the spirit of imagination powers the journey.
If Kings Island truly takes inspiration from this survey, guests might soon find themselves asking not “what’s the next ride?” but “what world are we traveling to today?”
