Kentucky Kingdom & Hurricane Bay is kicking off 2025 with big plans, unveiling more details about three new family rides set to debut in May.

Part of a newly themed land, these additions will celebrate the spirit of the Bluegrass State with what the park describes as a “Kentucky twist.”

The new rides are the centerpiece of a $25 million investment that will also see 10 existing attractions re-themed, the addition of a new playground, and expanded dining options over the next two seasons.

Among the new rides is a family-friendly train ride that will wind through a scenic wilderness setting, where guests can listen to the sounds of native wildlife. As a train enthusiast, I hope to be among the first riders.

Another addition is a swinging family ride, inspired by one of Kentucky’s famous feathered flyers, offering exciting turns on an oval-shaped course.

Lastly, a bouncing family ride, themed to Kentucky’s industrious squirrels, will provide a whimsical adventure in a lush garden setting.

The names of the three new attractions will be announced at a later date.

“I know that families are going to love these new rides and our brand-new land that celebrates Kentucky,” said Sarah Worrell, general manager of Kentucky Kingdom & Hurricane Bay. “This is just the first of many exciting announcements we have planned for this year. We can’t wait to share more thrilling news with our community soon!”

The new land will debut alongside the park’s existing attractions, further solidifying Kentucky Kingdom’s position as a destination for family fun.

Season pass holders, including myself, are already gearing up for what promises to be an unforgettable 2025 season.
