If your summer calendar needs a lighthearted twist, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari may have just the thing. The park is introducing Rubber Duck Days, a limited-time event set to run June 8–21, 2026—and yes, it’s very real, even if it was announced on April Fools’ Day.

At the heart of the event is a showstopping visual: the World’s Largest Rubber Duck. Known as “Mama Duck,” the towering inflatable stands more than 60 feet tall and will “nest” inside Splashin’ Safari throughout the two-week run.

Guests will also find Timmy, a 10-foot-tall companion duck designed for up-close interaction and photos—perfect for families looking to capture a playful summer moment.

An April Fools’ Reveal That’s No Joke

Holiday World leaned into its signature humor by unveiling the event on April 1, complete with a tongue-in-bill video across its website and social channels. But unlike many April Fools’ announcements, this one comes with real dates, real ducks and real summer energy.

“Holiday World is all about fun and giving our Guests new things to quack about,” said Lauren Crosby, Director of Entertainment & Events and fourth-generation owner. “We love to delight and surprise our Guests, and we think they’ll find Rubber Duck Days pretty unBILLievable!”

More Than Just a Photo Op

While the oversized ducks will be the main attraction, the event adds extra layers of fun across the park. Guests can expect:

  • New, themed food items
  • Surprise in-park moments
  • A playful atmosphere that fits Holiday World’s family-first identity

It’s a simple formula—but one that aligns with the park’s reputation for delivering approachable, feel-good experiences without overcomplicating the visit.

A Moment to Celebrate—and Reflect

The announcement video also took a moment to recognize two longtime team members. Dee Ann Woolems, who began working full-time at the park in 1993, and Tony Perkins, Director of Maintenance since 2008, are both retiring after years of contributing to the park’s growth.

Holiday World President & CEO Matt Eckert called them “huge contributors” and thanked them for helping shape the guest experience over the years.

Plan Your Visit

Rubber Duck Days is included with regular park admission—making it an easy add-on for families already planning a summer visit.

For a park that’s built its brand on free soft drinks, family traditions and a little bit of playful chaos, a 60-foot rubber duck feels right on brand.

And for two weeks in June, it might just be the most photogenic stop of the summer.
