The scent of cinnamon kettle corn drifts through the crisp mountain air as the last rays of sunlight catch the Smokies in a fiery glow. Around you, the warm light of hundreds of carved pumpkins begins to flicker to life, signaling that night — and the magic of Dollywood in the fall — has truly arrived.

This is the setting for Thrills in the Hills, a two-day celebration of Dollywood’s rides, flavors, and fall spirit, returning Sept. 26-27 during the park’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana. For devoted fans, it’s the ultimate insider weekend. The special package includes Friday evening and Saturday park admission, preferred parking, early and extended ride time on both days, a Saturday lunch, snacks to keep you fueled, and a goody bag of Dollywood treats to take home.

The timing couldn’t be better. The Harvest Festival — running Sept. 12–Oct. 27 — is one of the park’s most picturesque seasons. Great Pumpkin LumiNights, honored as the best theme park harvest event in the world, turns pathways into glowing art installations. Stages across the park host artists like Triumphant Quartet (Sept. 15-19), Keith Anderson (Sept. 20-21), The Grascals (Sept. 22-24), and Emily Ann Roberts (Oct. 8-12). Between shows, the park’s kitchens turn out fall-inspired dishes, while skilled artisans showcase their craft.

Tickets for Thrills in the Hills are on sale now, with discounted pricing for season passholders. Register by Aug. 31 to guarantee your T-shirt size; sign-ups through Sept. 18 still include a shirt, though sizing may vary.

When the last pumpkin is packed away, Dollywood will trade its amber glow for the sparkle of Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana (Nov. 1–Jan. 4, 2026), filling the park with six million lights, festive shows, and the kind of holiday warmth that lingers long after your visit.
