Cedar Point is adding a flavorful new reason to visit this summer. 

The Sandusky, Ohio amusement park’s debut of Barrels & Bites is set to transform the scenic Frontier Trail into a laid-back culinary escape, blending regional flavors, craft beverages and live entertainment into one signature seasonal experience.

A New Summer Experience at Cedar Point

Running June 5 through June 28 from 4 p.m. to park close (excluding Tuesdays), Barrels & Bites will invite guests to slow down and savor the moment in one of the park’s most atmospheric areas. 

Beneath the shade of towering trees, the Frontier Trail will become a tasting path where guests can explore a curated menu of small plates paired with beer, bourbon and wine selections that reflect the region’s growing craft scene.

What Guests Can Expect at Barrels & Bites

The menu will lean into bold, creative flavors designed for sampling and sharing. Offerings will include smoked pork belly sliders topped with pickled onions, crispy poblano pepper straws and bleu cheese crema, as well as mini crab cakes paired with apple and habanero slaw. 

Sweet options like chocolate stout mousse cups and flaming strawberry shortcake will round out the experience, while honey and herb-brined smoked wings finished with a raspberry chardonnay reduction will add another savory standout to the lineup.

More Than Food: Music, Games and Local Artisans

Beyond the food and drink, Barrels & Bites will embrace the spirit of a summer festival. Guests will be able to challenge friends to games of cornhole or ring toss, browse handcrafted goods from local artisans and watch as custom hats are created on-site by Loft at 36 Eleven artists. 

Cedar Point’s Frontier Trail staples—including the Leather Shop, Rock Shop, Glassblowing Store and wood carver—will also feature limited-edition items tied to the event, giving visitors a chance to take home a piece of the experience.

Music will play a central role in shaping the event’s relaxed vibe. A rotating lineup of local performers will provide a live soundtrack throughout the evening, from modern folk piano melodies to intimate guitar sets and jazz trios. The result will be an atmosphere that feels more like a summer evening gathering than a traditional theme park event.

Access to Barrels & Bites will be included with regular park admission, making it easy for guests to wander in and explore. Those looking to sample the culinary offerings will need to purchase a tasting card, unlocking a menu designed to highlight both local flavor and Cedar Point’s continued push to expand its food and beverage experiences.

For a park long known as “America’s Roller Coast,” Barrels & Bites signals a continued evolution—one where the thrills will extend beyond the rides and into a more complete, immersive summer experience.
