If you’re heading to the Smoky Mountains in 2026, there’s a good chance your trip will include a familiar planning ritual: deciding what can’t be missed. For many families, that list starts with Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show, which launches its eighth season on Friday, February 6, and brings with it a brand-new chapter of swashbuckling fun.
The larger-than-life dinner show has become a staple of any visit to Pigeon Forge, blending pirate legends, romance, mermaids and high-seas adventure into an immersive spectacle that feels equal parts theme park attraction and live theater—served with a hearty feast to match.
A new voyage, a new discovery
This season’s story sends the daring pirates slightly off course in their never-ending hunt for treasure, landing them in an unexpected port. There, they encounter a vibrant group of South Pacific islanders whose rhythmic movement, colorful costumes and powerful vocals transform the show into a high-energy celebration. The result is a fresh twist that adds new sights, sounds and cultural flair to an already action-packed production.
From sword fights and cannon blasts to acrobats soaring high above two full-sized pirate ships, the show unfolds in Buccaneer Bay, a massive indoor lagoon complete with 15 feet of water. Pirates battle for Davy Jones’ sunken treasure while mermaids glide gracefully overhead. Even the youngest guests tend to have a favorite moment—often involving a clever sea lion who outsmarts Captain Blackbeard with charm and comedic timing.
Dolly Parton’s seal of approval
The experience carries the unmistakable stamp of Dolly Parton, who says the show’s mix of music, special effects and world-class performers makes her feel like a kid again.
“If you’re visiting Pigeon Forge, you won’t want to miss all the fun, the action and one of the heartiest, tastiest meals in the Smokies,” Parton shared, praising the cast of pirates, mermaids, islanders and animals who bring the adventure to life.
A feast fit for pirates (and mermaids)
As the action unfolds, guests are treated to a four-course meal straight from Captain Blackbeard’s galley. The feast begins with creamy vegetable soup and a warm buccaneer biscuit, followed by cracklin’ pan-fried chicken, sugar-cured ham, buttery corn on the cob and matey’s mac and cheese.
Dessert options include a flaky apple turnover or chocolate coconut cake, with unlimited soft drinks, tea or coffee. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available by request, making it easy for the whole crew to enjoy the meal.
Why Pirates Voyage & Dinner Show belongs on your Smokies itinerary
With its mix of thrills, humor, music and a satisfying dinner, Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show continues to stand out as one of those rare attractions that works for all ages. It’s loud, colorful, a little bit chaotic—and unapologetically fun. For families planning a 2026 Smoky Mountains getaway, it’s often the experience everyone talks about long after the trip is over.
