Dollywood Reigns Supreme

One of my favorite theme parks, Dollywood, continues to shine bright in the theme park industry. Fresh off the opening of the highly acclaimed Dolly Parton Experience, Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has earned yet another prestigious accolade, reaffirming the exceptional quality guests can expect.

The National Amusement Park Historical Association (NAPHA) has released its 38th annual survey results, naming Dollywood the favorite theme park in the country.

This honor, bestowed by experienced theme park enthusiasts, underscores Dollywood’s commitment to excellence. Notably, the park’s Big Bear Mountain roller coaster was also voted the best new attraction of 2023.

Why Dollywood Stands Out

The NAPHA survey results are highly respected, considering the association’s members are seasoned park-goers who have visited an average of 14 parks in 2023 alone.

Dollywood’s rapid rise in the theme park industry over the last decade is a testament to the unparalleled quality of the Dollywood experience. The park’s consistent top rankings in guest satisfaction and industry awards highlight its dedication to providing an exceptional experience.

A Year of Awards and Recognition

In 2023, Dollywood earned five Golden Ticket Awards, including Best Park in the world and Best Guest Experience. These awards emphasize the park’s exceptional employee friendliness and the outstanding value for money.

Dollywood was also named the #1 attraction that former guests most wish to revisit and earned a spot on Forbes’ Top 300 Best Companies for Customer Service in 2024.

New Attractions and Shows

Dollywood’s commitment to reinvesting in new experiences is evident with the recent opening of The Dolly Parton Experience. This follows the introduction of Big Bear Mountain and HeartSong Lodge & Resort last year. The Flower & Food Festival, ending June 9, features “From the Heart—The Life and Music of Dolly Parton,” a musical journey through Dolly’s illustrious career.

The Dolly Parton Experience also includes “Heidi Parton: Kin & Friends,” a show featuring Dolly’s niece, Heidi Parton, and a talented cast sharing family stories and songs.

Summer Celebrations

Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration, presented by Food City, promises endless entertainment. The “Gazillion Bubble Show” and Sweet Summer Nights Dance Party and Drone Show return to dazzle guests of all ages. The Pines Theater will host Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience and Phat Cat Swinger, offering diverse and exciting performances.

At The Imagination Playhouse in Heartsong Theater, children’s classics like “Coat of Many Colors,” “The Little Engine that Could,” and “Violet the Pilot” come to life, delighting kids and adults alike.
