Dolly Parton made a splash in the Florida Panhandle this week as she officially opened her newest entertainment venture, the $60 million Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show, now open to the public in Panama City Beach.

Surrounded by pirates, mermaids, and theatrical fanfare, Parton welcomed media and local VIPs Thursday for a grand opening celebration at the 60,000-square-foot venue — the largest single investment in her growing lineup of dinner attractions.

“I always find so much joy in developing entertainment projects that bring families together to create memories that will last long after their visit,” Parton told the crowd. “Seeing my new show open here in Panama City Beach is another dream come true for me.”

The show invites guests into Buccaneer Bay, a 15-foot-deep indoor lagoon where two full-sized pirate ships become battlegrounds for the Crimson and Sapphire crews. Led by Captain Blackbeard and quartermaster Calico Jack, the swashbuckling teams clash in an epic quest to recover Davey Jones’ treasure.

The performance blends sword fights, aerial stunts, cannon fire, mermaid ballets, and live animals — including a sea lion named “Salty” — into a high-energy spectacle. A mid-show detour to a mysterious South Pacific island brings fire dancers, percussive rhythms, and skeletons that rise from the deep.

“I see myself as a storyteller,” Parton said. “This is an entertaining experience that combines so many elements in one show that people will want to experience it again and again. And we’ll even teach you how to talk like a pirate — ahoy!”

Guests also enjoy a four-course pirate feast beginning with Voyager Creamy Vegetable Soup and a Buccaneer Biscuit, followed by Half O’ Roasted Chicken, Me Hearties Pulled Pork, Cob-O’ Buttery Corn, and Matey’s Mashed Potatoes. Dessert is Apple O’ Me Eye Pie, with unlimited Coca-Cola, tea or coffee. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals are available upon request.

“The atmosphere and the people here in Panama City Beach have been so welcoming and excited to have us here,” Parton added. “It’s the perfect place for Pirates Voyage.”
