Construction is underway at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, as the highly anticipated Camp Snoopy expansion begins to materialize. Set to open in 2024, this new addition promises a thrilling experience for families with young children, providing another compelling reason to invest in a Gold Season Pass.

Camp Snoopy, an extension of the park’s acclaimed Planet Snoopy kids’ area, will introduce two exciting attractions: Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers and Beagle Scout Acres. Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, a family roller coaster designed by Vekoma, is set to redefine the coaster experience for both parents and kids.

Picture this: families climbing aboard Peanuts-decorated soap box coaster cars, being hoisted up a 70-foot hill, and eagerly awaiting Snoopy’s checkered flag wave. The 672-foot racetrack offers an exhilarating journey with twists and turns, reaching speeds of up to 36 MPH. Just as riders approach the finish line, the entire train of soap box cars takes an unexpected turn, rolling backward and navigating the same course in reverse. This innovative feature makes Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers the park’s first family boomerang coaster.

Kings Island proudly declares itself the “Kids Coaster Capital of the World” and with the addition of Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, the park will now boast five different roller coaster experiences for young thrill-seekers. 

The expansion also introduces Beagle Scout Acres, providing a shaded and comfortable space where kids can run, crawl, play, or relax with their families. This area boasts a campsite filled with turfed mounds, grassy areas, interactive equipment for noise-making fun, tents to climb through or over, and footprint paths left by Woodstock and his friends.

Kings Island’s commitment to family-friendly entertainment is evident in the meticulous planning of Camp Snoopy. As the 16th coaster within the 364-acre amusement park, Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers adds another dimension to the diverse array of attractions offered.
