The holidays are just around the corner, and Cedar Point Resorts are rolling out the red carpet for families and friends with two unique seasonal celebrations on Ohio’s North Coast. Castaway Bay will host Castaway Christmas from Nov. 22 through Dec. 31, while Sawmill Creek Resort transforms into a winter wonderland for its Season of Joy from Nov. 29 through Dec. 31.
Castaway Christmas at Castaway Bay
Castaway Bay’s year-round indoor waterpark hotel is bringing a touch of the North Pole to its 82-degree oasis. Families can immerse themselves in holiday cheer with daily meet-and-greets with Santa, Christmas sing-alongs dubbed “Merry Merry-oke,” and “Reindeer Games,” a friendly competition for all ages. Younger guests can channel their creativity with holiday arts and crafts or enjoy live performances from a steel drum band.
Evening festivities include a ship lighting ceremony in the resort’s main lobby and appearances by Castaway Bay’s whimsical characters, Gordy the sea turtle and Flo the flamingo. The season wraps up on Dec. 31 with a “Noon-Year’s Eve” party for kids, featuring party hats, noisemakers, and a countdown to 2025 designed just for them.
Season of Joy at Sawmill Creek
Sawmill Creek Resort will sparkle with thousands of lights, both indoors and out, as it welcomes guests to its Season of Joy. The resort’s entertainment lineup includes The Mistletones, a harmonious trio spreading holiday cheer; the Sawmill Carolers, an a cappella quartet; and the playful Holiday Helper Hotline show, blending festive music with comedy.
Additional highlights include the Hideout Holiday Trivia on Saturday nights and the Holiday Hideout, a pop-up bar serving unique cocktails, wines, and craft beers. Guests can indulge their sweet tooth at the S’mores & More bar or partake in A Taste of the Season, a workshop for creating holiday-themed libations. The resort’s Paint & Sip event offers a creative escape, pairing wine or cocktails with canvas art.
The festivities culminate on Dec. 31 with the Toast of the North Coast New Year’s Eve party. Live music from the party band Not Fast Enuff, handcrafted drinks, and exquisite cuisine will lead to a countdown celebration to ring in the new year.
