Six Flags Entertainment Corp. may be setting its sights on Disney pedigree as it searches for its next chief executive — and two big names are already fueling speculation.

Industry insiders say Michael Colglazier, the former Disney executive who most recently led Virgin Galactic, could bring the kind of fresh, forward-thinking vision the company needs to compete in a rapidly evolving industry landscape.

Colglazier spent more than 30 years with Disney, helping shape guest experiences at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and international resorts. His reputation for innovation and guest-focused strategy has many wondering if he could help reimagine the Six Flags brand for a new era.

But another name generating speculation — one with a much bigger headline: Bob Chapek.

The former Disney CEO may have had a turbulent exit, but his deep operational experience and focus on cost discipline could be exactly what Six Flags needs to steady the ship and navigate its financial challenges. Chapek’s track record of streamlining operations — combined with his ability to scale guest offerings — could make him uniquely suited to lead the company out of the woods.

Six Flags has faced headwinds in recent years, from shifting attendance patterns to rising costs and pressure to deliver unique guest experiences. Industry analysts say the company may be looking for a leader who can balance operational discipline with creative vision — qualities represented by both Colglazier and Chapek in different ways.

No official candidates have been named, but if either Colglazier or Chapek gets the nod, Six Flags’ next chapter could look very different — and possibly a lot more Disney.
