For fans of Kings Island, the closing of Boo Blasters on Boo Hill last fall marked the end of an era. Now, the park is giving guests a chance to take home a piece of that history.

Kings Island has announced it will auction off props and set pieces from the retired interactive dark ride as the park prepares for its next chapter: the debut of Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare, scheduled to open this spring.

The online auction will run from March 18 through March 27, giving collectors, theme park enthusiasts, and nostalgia seekers the opportunity to bid on items that once brought Boo Hill’s haunted storyline to life.

What’s Up for Auction

The auction will feature a wide assortment of themed props that previously appeared throughout Boo Blasters on Boo Hill.

Among the items available:

  • Life-sized medieval knights
  • Components from the attraction’s pipe organ set pieces
  • Formerly animated ghosts
  • Decorative gravestones
  • Themed signage and other ride elements

For fans of the ride—or collectors of amusement park memorabilia—the auction represents a rare chance to own pieces that once formed the backbone of one of Kings Island’s interactive attractions.

A Ride Makes Way for a New Story

Boo Blasters on Boo Hill closed at the end of the 2025 season as Kings Island began preparing the building for its next dark ride experience.

The upcoming Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare will reintroduce characters and themes inspired by the park’s original Phantom Theater attraction that operated from 1992 to 2002. The new ride is expected to blend modern ride technology with nods to the classic dark ride that remains a favorite among longtime park guests.

As the park transitions from Boo Blasters to the Phantom Theater revival, the auction allows pieces of the former attraction to live on in the collections and homes of fans.

How the Boo Blasters Auction Will Work

Bidders will be able to review the available items and place bids throughout the auction window from March 18 to March 27.

Winning bidders will be notified by email once the auction closes. Purchased items must be picked up at Kings Island before the park opens for the season.

For collectors, it’s not just an auction—it’s a chance to preserve a small piece of the park’s storytelling history before a new chapter begins on Boo Hill.
