Kennywood’s 2024 Season: A New Era of Classic Charm

As Kennywood gears up for its highly anticipated 126th season starting April 20, the beloved Pittsburgh amusement park continues its tradition of blending nostalgia with innovation, ensuring an unforgettable experience for visitors old and new.

At the forefront of the park’s latest offerings are two new dining establishments and enhancements to three classic rides, cementing Kennywood’s reputation as a leader in amusement park entertainment.

Kennywood opens for its 126th season on April 20.

The old carousel building has been transformed into Carousel Burger Co., a delightful all-American restaurant with a whimsical carousel theme. Say hello to a fresh, new era as Carousel Burger Co. takes center stage, offering a modern twist on classic park dining. Guests can indulge in juicy burgers, chicken sandwiches, and loaded cheese fries, along with the show-stopping Carousel Milkshakes, towering with pastries and overflowing with flavor.

Nearby, guests can now enjoy the laid-back ambiance of Jeeters’ Pub, a charming hometown bar paying homage to Kennywood’s iconic pink mascot from the 1970s. With a selection of 12 draft beers, including favorites from Penn Brewery, along with delectable pub snacks, Jeeters’ Pub promises to be a hit among park-goers.

But the culinary delights don’t end there. Kennywood’s collaboration with Penn Brewery will soon unveil a mouthwatering Strawberry Funnel Cake Shandy, available exclusively at Jeeters’ Pub later in the season.

Thrill-seekers will also be in for a treat with revamped rides. The Gran Prix bumper car attraction has undergone a makeover, evolving into the Potato Smash, a Potato Patch-themed experience complete with custom cars and vibrant murals. Embrace the cheesiness as you navigate through the Potato Patch®-inspired landscape in one of the 20 new food boat-shaped cars.

Meanwhile, the iconic Aero 360 receives a fresh update with newly painted seats and an upgraded control system, ensuring an exhilarating ride experience for adrenaline junkies. And for those seeking a dose of nostalgia, The Turtle has been fully restored to its former glory, with refurbished turtles sporting new shell paint jobs and seats, harkening back to its origins in 1927.

Landscaping is an attraction at Kennywood.

As the park prepares to welcome guests on Opening Day, excitement is palpable for the upcoming events throughout the season, including the Bites and Pints Food & Drink Festival, Celebrate Pittsburgh, and Celebrate America.
