For many visitors, Cedar Point’s roller coasters are the main attraction. But during Boardwalk Nights, the park’s Lake Erie shoreline becomes a destination of its own, with live entertainment, beachside nostalgia, creative food and a colorful nighttime finale that make staying after sunset well worth it.

Running July 17 through Aug. 16 (excluding Tuesdays), the annual event is included with park admission and offers guests plenty of reasons to slow down, soak in the waterfront atmosphere and experience a different side of America’s Roller Coast after sunset.

A Celebration of Cedar Point’s Lakeside Roots

Long before Cedar Point became famous for record-breaking roller coasters, it was a lakeside resort where visitors gathered to enjoy the beach and fresh Lake Erie air. Boardwalk Nights embraces that heritage by blending nostalgic boardwalk charm with modern entertainment.

Guests can watch colorful Soaring Synchronized Kites dance above the shoreline while younger visitors explore hands-on activities like the Boardwalk Color Cove and Sea Shell Dig, creating a family-friendly atmosphere that extends beyond the rides.

Entertainment Around Every Corner

Rather than gathering in one location, entertainment fills The Boardwalk throughout the evening, creating a festival atmosphere as guests move from attraction to attraction.

New this year, the Towering Tightrope challenges performers to balance high above the midway on a slackline, while Remarkable Ricochet Juggling showcases incredible speed and precision from the world’s fastest female juggler. The energetic Hypnotic Hula Hoops also joins the lineup with eye-catching routines packed with spins and tricks.

Returning favorites such as the Harrowing High Dive Daredevil, Treacherous Teeterboard and Wheel of Destiny continue to showcase gravity-defying feats that have become Boardwalk Nights traditions.

Music, Dancing and a Grand Finale

The entertainment isn’t limited to stunt performers.

The evening begins with the lively Opening Cavalcade, featuring floats, dancers, acrobats and interactive performers who set the tone for the night’s festivities. Guests can also stop by the Steamboat Swing Dance Party, enjoy performances by the Singin’ Seagals, or catch the debut of the Bellhop Boys, whose combination of percussion, tap dancing and rolling luggage carts creates one of the event’s most unique acts.

As the night winds down, the Fantabulous Finale lights up The Boardwalk with colorful effects and pyrotechnics launched from five locations, providing a memorable conclusion to an evening by the lake.

Creative Summer Eats Join the Fun

Boardwalk Nights also serves up several menu items that are just as conversation-worthy as the entertainment.

Among the most unusual is the Fried Chicken Ice Scream Sandwich, pairing spicy glazed fried chicken with vanilla ice cream for a sweet-and-savory combination. Guests can also sample PickleBack Wings, brined in pickle juice before being fried, or Won Ton Ahi Tacos topped with seared ahi tuna, cabbage slaw and wasabi mayo.

Those looking for more traditional boardwalk fare will still find favorites like Philly sandwiches, Bavarian pretzels and fresh popcorn.

Games Bring Classic Midway Fun Back to Life

The midway also becomes part of the entertainment experience with interactive games designed for all ages.

Guests can test their aim with Ring a Seagull, measure their strength at Hi Striker, or challenge their reflexes in the new Quick Drop game. The nostalgic Fascination Funway Game Show also returns, inviting audiences to play along in a lively, interactive setting.

An Evening That Complements the Thrills

Cedar Point has built its reputation on world-class roller coasters, but Boardwalk Nights showcases another side of the park. As the sun sets over Lake Erie, The Boardwalk transforms into a lively waterfront gathering place filled with live entertainment, interactive games, seasonal food and a colorful nighttime spectacular.

Whether you’re watching acrobats perform high above the midway, sampling a limited-time menu item or taking in the Fantabulous Finale, the event encourages guests to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere instead of racing from one attraction to the next.

For anyone planning a summer visit, Boardwalk Nights is a reminder that some of Cedar Point’s most memorable moments happen after dark, when the shoreline comes alive with music, entertainment and the unmistakable energy of a summer night on the Lake Erie waterfront.
