Peanuts fans, kids, and parents are eagerly counting down the days until the highly anticipated opening of the new Camp Snoopy kids’ area at Kings Island. The Mason, Ohio amusement park has officially announced May 24 as the date when the excitement begins.
Camp Snoopy promises a unique experience for families, offering a day filled with exploration and relaxation in the great outdoors alongside Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts. From raising flags to enjoying campfire activities, guests will immerse themselves in the joys of outdoor play, complete with delicious snacks for the whole family to enjoy.

The highlight of Camp Snoopy is the park’s newest attraction, Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers. Towering above the landscape, this family boomerang coaster by Vekoma features Peanuts-themed soapbox cars, the train hoisted up a 70-foot hill to the starting line. As riders embark on their journey, they’ll be treated to a thrilling race full of twists, turns, and unexpected surprises. Just when they think they’re about to cross the finish line, the entire train of soapbox cars rolls backward, traversing the same course in reverse for a truly unforgettable experience.
With the addition of Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, Kings Island is set to become the Kids Coaster Capital of the World, boasting a total of five exhilarating roller coaster experiences for young thrill-seekers. Others in the ranks are favorites like Woodstock’s Air Rail, The Great Pumpkin Coaster, Woodstock Express, and Surf Dog.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Camp Snoopy also introduces Beagle Scout Acres, a shaded oasis where kids can run, crawl, and play to their heart’s content amidst turfed mounds and interactive equipment.
After working up an appetite, families can refuel at Pigpen’s Mess Hall, indulging in kid-friendly favorites like Hot Dogs, Chicken Nuggets, Roasted Potato Salad, Mac N’ Cheese, and the irresistible Cheesy Mettwurst topped with bacon bits.

Camp Snoopy offers other fun family attractions, including Charlie Brown’s Rushing River, Woodstock’s Air Rail, Franklin’s Flyers, and Linus’ Launcher. As good as Kings Island’s kids’ area has been over the years (it won Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket Award for Best Kids’ Area for 18 consecutive years 2001-2018), the addition of Camp Snoopy promises to elevate it to new heights.
As opening weekend for Camp Snoopy approaches, families can also look forward to the season debut of Soak City Water Park and the mesmerizing “Under the Stars” fireworks and drone show. Active and retired military members will receive free admission May 24-27 for Memorial Day weekend, while their friends and family can enjoy discounted tickets.
With Camp Snoopy leading the charge, Kings Island is set to deliver the ultimate family adventure this summer, promising unforgettable moments and endless fun for guests of all ages.
